I've joined the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club

I am proud to be a new associate in the Zulu Social Aid and pleasure club. We had a great Mardi Gras season. I rode with the Maasai Krewe and had the most spectacular Mardi Gras day of my life. I look forward to riding again year after year and maybe even tramping some years.

Mardi Gras was so much more than one day, and being a club member is so much more than Mardi Gras and partying. The Mardi Gras season was party after party, parties for each krewe, parties with other groups, and, of course, the Zulu Coronation Ball. This was the biggest and fanciest event I have ever attended. There were two thousand of us in black tie and evening wear, all pulling coolers full of food and drink. Midnight Star performed among others. The club is truly encouraging me to be more social than I have ever been, and it’s tons of fun. I even rode in a limo like it was adult prom night.

Now that we are into lint I am practicing self-care and as a club, we are planning our social aid and outreach activities. I am looking forward to continuing the tradition of social aid in the community by joining some key committees and staying active.
